Slow Stitched Scroll Part 3 - Adding trees loaded with French knots and beads, and finishing up.
I’m this video I’ll finish up my snippet roll scroll. I chose not to put a backing on it or wrap it around anything. I used handmade paper beads to embellish the tie.

That is a beautiful snippet roll with a lovely closure. I am sorry to see the end as I loved watching your process. Are the green French knots done with gimp? I have some but never used it.
Thanks! The small knots on the lower part? I must have accidentally cropped that part out of the video. Those are just done with a variegated embroidery floss. 😊

Do you use the same needle for each thread? 🪡
I choose a needle depending on the thickness of the thread I’m using. I like to make sure the needle pokes a hole big enough for the thread to slide through easily.

Absolutely adorable. I usually slow stitch my projects just a little bit bigger, that being said, how do you know when to use sewing thread or embroidery thread? I also ❤ your stash of sequin and sheer fabrics. I’m a new convert from “Perfectly Pieced Pieces” if you know what I mean, and I’m still struggling with combining and layering different textures. I absolutely LOVE your videos most of all!! I already know how to hand stitch, it’s the new style of “Slow Stitching” that I’m learning, and you my dear are PHENOMENAL 🥳🫶🏼☀️🌺😊🧵🪡🌸
Thank you so much! I agree that projects like this with layers of random fabric and textures are more of a challenge than the ones that fit together perfectly to resemble something. I decide how thick I want the stitching to be and then choose the thread. Sometimes I just want it to disappear into the piece and other times I want to use it to add a lot of texture.
